There comes a time every once in a while that you discover something that seems too good to be true…
…and that's how I feel about these Makeup Revolution eyeshadows at least.
I hadn't heard of this brand at all until very recently, probably because they are a fairly new brand - only launching in March 2014. Their products are available to buy online and at Superdrug. They offer a makeup range at very affordable prices, promising to keep their products cruelty free, professional and suited to all skin tones and shades. After reading a few reviews on their products I couldn't resist but to try a few for myself.
I chose to try out a few of their eyeshadow palettes, which have been reviewed as rivals to the more high-end make up brands such as Urban Decay, Too Faced and Stila.
This was the first item I added to my basket. A whole 32 eyeshadows for £8! Can this be real? I don't think there is a single shade in this palette that I wouldn't wear, the looks you could create with this are endless. The pigmentation and textures of these shadows are gorgeous, most of them being either creamy or powdery. I highly recommend picking one of these beauty's up next time you're in your local Superdrug store!
Redemption palette - Iconic 1 (Naked dupe)
Redemption palette - Iconic 2 (Naked 2 dupe)
Redemption palette - Iconic 3 (Naked 3 dupe)
These 3 Iconic palettes are great dupes for the famous Urban Decay Naked palettes. The shades are very similar, offering combinations of shimmer, matte and even quite glittery textures. At £4 a palette, the quality of these eyeshadows compare quite nicely to the originals at £37 a palette (saving a whopping £33!).
Redemption palette - Iconic Dreams
I found myself reaching for this one first. It has some beautiful gold, bronze and green shades in it which I couldn't wait to try out. Unlike the other 3 redemption palettes, I think this is an original and not a dupe for any of the higher-end brands.
The only downside I have found with these eyeshadows is that you get some product fallout, especially with the darker shades. I found to get the best from these palettes is to use a good brush and build up the colours, rather than use the sponge wand provided.
Overall, I am super impressed with the quality of these palettes and their range of beautifully pigmented shades. I would recommend these to everyone!
