Book of the month - 'Girl Online'

I love reading. I don't think there is anything better than settling down before bed and getting stuck into a good book. Before having my daughter, I used to read quite a lot. So this year I have decided to make a better effort to read more.

This month I have read Girl Online by Zoe Sugg (Zoella). This was bought for me by my mum as a Christmas Present.

After following Zoe for a while now, reading her blog and watching her YouTube channel, I will admit I was quite excited when she revealed that she was releasing a book. But much to my disappointment, it was not at all what I had expected.

I managed to read the entire book in about 4 nights, which would usually mean that I was enjoying the story so much that I couldn't put it down. But I didn't find myself engrossed enough to even finish the end word-for-word, instead skimming most of the chapters. To me, it felt as though the the story was written about Zoella herself; a young girl who lives in Brighton, suffers with anxiety and writes about it on her blog. This book is definitely suited to its audience of teenage girls, who will probably find it quite relatable (apart from meeting and falling in love with a rock star!).

Apparently there is a second book to follow, but I'm not so sure I will be in as much of a hurry to read it.

Have you read this book?
What did you think of it?
