Basic face - work

As a full time working mum, I don't get a lot of time to myself to get ready in the mornings before work. I have had to limit myself to a selective few products that won't take me forever to apply but will still make me look like I haven't just got out of bed!

After my shower, I will brush my teeth and apply a generous layer of vaseline on my lips. Then I will put some moisturiser on my face and let that soak in while I get dressed.

At the moment I am loving Rimmel London BB cream matte in light. This surprised me with how much coverage it gives and most days I wear this alone.

Depending on what kind of night we have had with Macie, I may put on a little concealer to hide up any dark circles under my eyes!

On my cheeks I've been using Coralista by Benefit. This is my all-time favourite blush. It is such a lovely shade of coral (which looks even more fabulous with a tan) is fairly long lasting, and smells pretty good too!

As you fellow blondies will know, filling in eyebrows is a very long process. A process of which feels like it takes even longer when you are in a hurry. So I use Benefit's Gimme Brow in light/medium. A quick application and ta-dah - I have eyebrows! The formula of this is so buildable and long-wearing which makes it perfect to wear for work.

Recently I have been using another Benefit product, which is their new Roller Lash mascara. I got a sample of this to try with my March issue of Elle magazine, and so far I am very impressed. The formula is lovely and I can definitely notice some curl into my lashes. I will probably purchase the full size version once this has ran out!

Have you tried any of these products? Or do you have any other suggestions that I could try?

Book of the month - 'Genesis'

The first woman was tortured.
The second was scared to death.
Now a sadistic killer hunts the third.

I could not put this book down. What a gripping story line. This wasn't the kind of genre that I would usually read, but I was hooked even after just reading the prologue. This book follows 3 main characters; 2 police officers and a grieving nurse, who are trying to hunt down a madman who is kidnapping and torturing women. The characters are so well described, you can picture every single one of them in your mind without having read any of the previous books. Unfortunately I felt that the ending was a little rushed. Each chapter builds up the tension so well that I was expecting a slightly more dramatic finish. However, I still thoroughly enjoyed reading this, it was so well written that I felt like I was watching a thriller movie in my head!

Karin Slaughter is an American crime writer, best known for her 'Grant County' series of novels. I have never read anything by her before, but after reading this book I am very keen on sampling some of her other work too.
I was lent this book by a lady that I work with (after complaining that I didn't have many books at home to choose from!) and I have already passed it onto another colleague to read.

Have you read anything by this author?
